Telstra, Australia’s largest telco, has undergone a major rebrand in a bid to make a more emotional connection with its customers.

The new brand, developed by agency Interbrand, is the biggest transformation to the company’s identity since its shift from Telecom Australia to Telstra in 1993.

The Telstra logo will remain the same but will feature new colours – orange, green, turquoise blue, purple and magenta. The new look will be rolled out over the next 18 months across the company, including uniforms, vehicles, packaging and all communications.

Telstra has also introduced a new online community called CrowdSupport, designed to help customers support other customers.

David Thodey, Telstra CEO, said, “The time is right for a new look and feel for Telstra. We’ve been busy changing behind the scenes to better connect with our customers, and our new brand identity reflects this fresh approach.â€

The company has also released the video below, to support the roll out of the campaign.
